Program Description/Overview

Learn how to build and maintain your own website!

Attend one of our Free Information Sessions!

The Basic Web Design Certificate is designed for individuals seeking the knowledge and expertise to build and maintain their own website, whether for their company or for themselves.

The certificate covers the basics of visual communication, branding, instruction on how to register your domain name, security issues, Dreamweaver, Fireworks, Flash, and more.  Instructors will guide you in web building, step-by-step, while you practice the skills you learn both inside and outside of the classroom.

During "Final Project Presentation" (the last few evenings of the program), you will present your own website design (which you'll work on building throughout the 11 weeks), where you and your classmates, along with several instructors, will discuss your work, suggest helpful hints for improving your website, and engage in brainstorming and discussion in a relaxed setting.

Enrollment size is limited.

Certificate Requirements

To receive your record of attendance, full participation is expected. Participants must be present at the beginning of each course and be in attendance through the duration of each course in order to receive the record of attendance. Credit hours will only be adjusted under extenuating circumstances.

What are the attendance requirements?

Some homework "practice" assignments will be given out in order to review the skills learned in class. While the assignments will not be graded, their completion is mandatory to earning the certificate.
