Program Description/Overview

The USGBC LEED Green Building Rating System is a comprehensive, voluntary, design and assessment tool that helps design, engineering and construction professionals improve building efficiency, and measure the sustainability of their projects. Understanding LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) is an important step toward reducing environmental impacts and achieving superior economic performance in all building types. LEED Accreditation showcases your environmental commitment and leadership in sustainable construction practices, creating a draw for potential tenants and sending a strong message to employees and the wider community that you care about their health.

This one-day LEED Exam Prep course is designed to educate building industry professionals about sustainable design principles and construction practices embodied in the LEED rating system, as well as prepare individuals to take the new LEED V3 2009 accredited professional examination.

This training provides an overview of the substantial changes that have been made from version 2.2 to version 3, 2009 . including Credit Weighting and three tiered Credentialing through the newly formed GBCI. The overarching goal of this LEED training is to educate attendees about the sustainable design principles and construction practices embodied in the LEED rating system, familiarize attendees with requirements and strategies to certify a construction project and prepare individuals for LEED professional accreditation.
