Stephanie Elliott, NCCP

Stephanie ElliottStephanie Elliott is a North Carolina State Bar Certified Paralegal in the Charlotte office of Shumaker, Loop & Kendrick, LLP, where she concentrates in the area of medical malpractice. She prepares pleadings, assists and drafts all phases of discovery, schedules and notices depositions of witnesses and coordinates trial preparation. Prior to joining Shumaker, Stephanie had vast litigation experience in medical malpractice, insurance defense, commercial, corporate and complex business litigation. She has experience with filings in the North Carolina Complex Business Court; State Court filings in counties across North Carolina, Federal Filings in the Western, Eastern and Middle districts of North Carolina, the North Carolina Court of Appeals and the Federal Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals (Richmond, VA).

Stephanie is a member of the University of North Carolina at Charlotte’s Continuing Education Paralegal Certification Program, where she teaches Paralegal Profession and Legal Technology. She is also a member of the Academic Advisory Board and a faculty member of Gaston College’s Paralegal Program.

Stephanie is a featured speaker for such organizations as the Federal Bar Association, NALA, North Carolina Bar Association, Institute for Paralegal Education, National Business Institute, LawPracticeCLE, and MyLawCLE.

Stephanie has dedicated many years of service to the paralegal associations of North Carolina, where she has served in multiple capacities, including as President and as an Executive Committee Member of the North Carolina Paralegal Association. She currently serves on the North Carolina Bar Association’s Paralegal Division Council as a Council Member, and Co-Chair of the Continuing Paralegal Education Committee.

Stephanie enjoys a rich life outside of law with her family and friends. She is an active member of First United Methodist Church of Gastonia, where she sings in the choir and plays trumpet with First Brass. She also is an active member of the music community in Gaston County, playing with the Gaston Symphonic Band and singing with Princess and the Cowboys.
