Judge Hugh Lewis

Hugh B. Lewis is a retired Resident Superior Court Judge for District 26B in Mecklenburg County. He presided over both Criminal and Civil jury trials that range from murder to medical malpractice. Judge Lewis typically held court in Charlotte and judicial districts west of Mecklenburg County; however was on call to hold court anywhere in North Carolina as needed.

Judge Lewis holds the distinct honor of being the only Judge that has presided over cases at every trial level of North Carolina’s judicial system. His previous experiences as a Magistrate and District Court Judge created his deep understanding of trial procedure and influenced his perspective of trial administration.
