Asher Haines is Associate Provost of the School of Professional Studies at UNC Charlotte, where he joins forces with brilliant minds at the university along with premier experts from various industries to deliver continuing education programs that uplift the community, improve businesses and organizations, and empower adult learners to accelerate their careers.
After spending nearly two decades working in higher education leadership roles, Asher knows what it takes to lead teams on the noble mission of positively changing lives through education – and he is still learning!
J. has worked in college admissions, enrollment, and student services since 1999. He enjoys connecting with students and staff, building relationships, and achieving high levels of customer service. J. has a passion for art, music, playing sports, and self-development.
Karri earned her Bachelor of Science in Organizational Communication and her Master of Arts in Student Affairs Administration in Higher Education from Ball State University. She has also completed extensive doctoral coursework in Curriculum and Teaching through UNC Greensboro.
LaShae Betters began her career at UNC Charlotte in 2018 when she became a Student Service Specialist at Niner Central. She grew up in Raleigh, NC, and moved to Charlotte to complete her Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice. Since then she has gone on to pursue her Master's degree in Communication at East Carolina University with an expected completion date of December 2021. Her passion is simply making people feel good about themselves and helping them “figure it out." In her free time, she enjoys bike riding, working out, and building long lasting relationships.
Isabella Strafaci grew up in Chapel Hill, North Carolina and graduated with her Bachelor's degree in Social Work from Appalachian State University. Her two years as a Resident Assistant in college sparked a passion to develop students and help them reach their goals. After college, she worked as a volunteer on various service projects in Central and South America, Africa and Asia. She has spent the past four years working in Admissions and Marketing for a non-profit based out of Gainesville, Georgia. She is passionate about building healthy work-place teams and committed to providing an excellent customer experience. In her free time you can find her cooking, enjoying live music, hiking and experiencing new cultures. Her most recent adventure was hiking "El Camino de Santiago," a trail across Northern Spain. Isabella is thrilled to join UNC Charlotte and grow alongside the Continuing Education team.
Katie Addison is a graduate of Auburn University where she earned a Bachelor's degree in Human Development and Family Studies. Katie joined Continuing Education as a Program Coordinator working with Corporate and Custom Training in March of 2018. In August of 2019 Katie become a Business Services Coordinator for the Teaching and Learning Connection Business Service unit, supporting Continuing Education.
Kristy Wilson joined UNC Charlotte in 2018 as an Implementation Specialist and Planning Specialist for Continuing Education before moving to her role as the Program Manager for Camps on Campus and Youth Programs. She has worked in youth programming and K-12 education – specifically special education – for nearly 10 years. Kristy completed her Bachelor of Science, a Master’s Certificate in Distance Education Administration, and is currently finishing her last semester for her Master’s Degree in Instructional Technology – all through East Carolina University. She looks forward to bridging the gap between K-12 and higher education through the development of quality youth programming.
Denise Cornell joined the Continuing Education team in November 2018 as the Implementation Specialist. With over 15 years of program coordinating and administrative support experience, she has a vast knowledge for customer service, fundraising, program organization and event planning.
Kaleena Waters was born and raised in Miami, Fl. She attended Florida International University receiving her Bachelor's degree in English. For the past seven years, Kaleena has been working in education with student development and support. She enjoys community outreach projects and volunteering with youth. In her free time, she likes to read, go to live music venues, travel, and spend time with family and friends.
Chris Duncan is a graduate of the College of Charleston where he earned both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Communication.
For the past ten years, he has worked as a Marketing and Media Relations Manager in the field of higher education and is excited to have joined UNC Charlotte Continuing Education team.
Michael has dedicated his career to higher education and the pursuit of helping others achieve their goals and improve their lives. He was most recently Director of Non-Traditional Programs at Belmont Abbey College where he specialized in digital learning and the non-traditional market.
Michael obtained his B.A. from Wofford College and his M.B.A. from Pfeiffer University.
Jeff Anderson joins UNC Charlotte's School of Professional Studies with more than 25 years of experience, including nearly 17 years of leadership in the corporate training industry at the global, non-profit Center for Creative Leadership (CCL). At CCL he led efforts to generate business, position CCL as a world leader in executive education and cultivate stronger relationships with the companies and executives they served. Jeff has a personal passion for improving the quality of the customer experience and is excited to bring that passion to his work at UNC Charlotte.
Krystle earned her bachelor's degree in psychology from Michigan State University and recently earned her Master of Public Administration with a concentration in Nonprofit Management from UNC Charlotte.
Prior to coming becoming the Director of Corporate Training in 2005, Amy Wartham spent six years working in UNC Charlotte's Belk College of Business and ten years in corporate America. Please contact to discuss how UNC Charlotte's programs can benefit your company or organization.

Janet is the Program Coordinator for Employer Solutions. She is originally from Maryland, where she grew up, and raised her own family. She moved to North Carolina in 2020. Janet comes to UNC Charlotte with nine years of experience in the hospitality and events industry and has successfully held the positions of account executive, banquet supervisor, and most recently, event manager with Marriott. In addition to her experience with meeting and event planning and management, she also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, and pursues her own creative ventures as an artist. Janet enjoys camping, music, travel, festivals, great friends, and takes advantage of every opportunity to enjoy outdoor activities.
