Course Overview

Campers will be introduced to the world of Minecraft and all of its features. After presenting the basics of the game, participants will be shown some of the more technical aspects of the game such as the game?s electricity, redstone.

Participants will be presented the rules of redstone, and how to construct basic in game applications of wiring, such as traps and sliding doors. After grasping the basics of redstone, it will be shown how digital logic gates can be crafted for simple digital circuit design principals. Before the end of the camp participants are expected to design and implement a simple digital logic circuit inside the game.

Prerequisites

Campers are required to purchase their own copy of Minecraft for PCs prior to camp. If they do not already own a copy, they can obtain one at https://minecraft.net/store before the camp. Campers will also need to know the username and password that they use for the game login.

Please refrain from wearing discriminatory terms, logos, pictures, cartoons, or slogans. Specific dress requirements may occur depending on the camp activity. This will be communicated in advance to guardians by our instructors.
